Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited PTA program.
• Minimum of 2 years post-graduate PTA experience in acute care or rehabilitation.
• Current NYS PTA licensure required.
• Reads, writes and speaks English; proficient with computers.

Responsibilities

• Document patient care notes, renew orders, and progress in charting per standards.
• Implement individualized treatment plans and instruct adaptive equipment use.
• Communicate with therapist, physician and team about patient response.
• Provide gait training, assistive device instruction and safe transfer guidance.
• Assist with discharge planning and family education.
