Job summary

Valaris plc is seeking a Dynamic Positioning Operator (DPO) to operate and monitor the DP system on MODU, reporting to the Sr DPO. The role requires maintaining DP readiness, understanding VMS and Fire & Gas systems, and ensuring data is recorded accurately.

The ideal candidate has STCW II/1 OICNW certification, a valid DP Operator certificate, and a minimum of one year as a certified DPO on MODUs or two years on other DP vessels. This position emphasizes safety, compliance, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• One year minimum experience as certified DPO on MODU or two years minimum on other DP vessels.
• Officer in Charge of Navigational Watch License STCW II/1.
• Valid Dynamic Positioning Operator certificate.
• Compliant with mandatory DPO training described in the company training matrix.

Responsibilities

• Operate DP system under the supervision of the Sr DPO.
• Monitor DP, VMS, and Fire and Gas alarms; prioritize responses to maintain operability.
• Assist with preventive and corrective maintenance on DP equipment.
• Maintain vessel in a stable condition and plan DP operations.
• Assist with rig move plans and voyage planning; maintain nautical publications.
