Job summary

ECU Health is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to provide patient care under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist. You will perform treatments, document services, and communicate with the supervising PT and health team to support patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include delegation to PT technicians, participating in quality improvement, and educating staff and students. Orientation for new staff and special projects may be required.

Qualifications

• Must hold current licensure with the North Carolina Board of Physical Therapy.
• Educational background includes an associate degree or higher with PTA specialization.
• Professional practice under supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
• Perform treatment and participate in departmental quality improvement activities.
• Communicate with supervising PT and other health care professionals.
• Complete appropriate documentation of services rendered.
• Delegate tasks to PT technicians and provide supervision as needed.
• Educate self, peers, patients and students; assist with orientation for new staff.
• Assist with or perform special projects as assigned.
