Job summary

Maywood Healthcare & Wellness Centre in California seeks a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to deliver direct patient care under a Physical Therapist, following the established plan of care and facility procedures.

You will document accurately, support clinicians, educate patients and families, and contribute to a positive interdisciplinary team culture while maintaining patient safety and high-quality outcomes. Experience in geriatric rehab is preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Physical Therapy treatment techniques.
• Understanding the principles of physical modalities.
• Knowledge of use of prosthetic devices, ambulatory aids, assistive/resistive devices, and training.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to work with all types and levels of patients.
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care under the direction of a physical therapist.
• Completes documentation according to established procedures.
• Instructs patients and families in treatment plans and follow-through.
• Communicates patient progress with supervisor and health team.
• Assists with scheduling and administrative support for patient services.
• Participates in interdisciplinary team conferences and education of staff.
