Job summary

The Wood Dale Park District is seeking a part-time Fitness Instructor to lead engaging group fitness classes at the Recreation Complex in Wood Dale, IL. You’ll create fun, inclusive workouts for all ages and abilities, ensure safety, set up equipment, and monitor attendance.

Hours vary with classes offered, including evenings and weekends. Certification in group fitness, First Aid/CPR, and a friendly, community-focused approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and hold a valid group fitness instructor certification.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification required within three months of hire.
• Prior experience leading group fitness classes is highly desired.
• Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, effective, and safe group fitness classes with warm-up, workout, and cool-down.
• Arrive early to set up equipment and ensure safety.
• Instruct proper use of equipment and demonstrate exercises.
• Maintain equipment, inventory, and request replenishments as needed.
• Record attendance and respond to participant questions promptly.
• Adapt classes to different abilities and foster a community feel.
