Job summary

Specialty Clinics of Georgia Orthopaedics PC seeks a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in a high-volume orthopaedic setting. You will assist with patient care, prepare patients for exams, and help with casts, splints, and wound care while maintaining accurate records.

Key responsibilities include documenting histories and vitals, preparing patients for procedures, and educating patients on treatment plans and follow-up care.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Current Medical Assistant certification preferred or required based on applicable practice standards.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required or must be obtained within the required timeframe.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Orthopaedic experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet and room patients in a professional and courteous manner.
• Obtain and document patient histories, medications, allergies, vital signs, and other pertinent information.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, injections, and other treatments.
• Assist physicians and other clinical providers with examinations and procedures as needed.
• Assist with casting, splinting, bracing, dressing changes, suture/staple removal, and other orthopaedic procedures as directed.
• Prepare and position patients appropriately for examinations and procedures.
• Provide patient education and instructions regarding medications, treatment plans, wound care, activity restrictions, follow-up appointments, and other physician recommendations.

Education

Medical Assistant certification or equivalent
