Job summary

ACCEL Schools’ Virtual Preparatory Academy of Missouri at Atlanta seeks an online K–12 teacher to serve as the teacher of record and primary instructor. You will deliver live lessons, monitor progress, and maintain regular contact with families while supporting state testing and student events across Missouri.

The role requires a Missouri teaching license, knowledge of standards, and the ability to work in a remote setting with occasional in-person activities.

Qualifications

• Current state teaching license in appropriate content area.
• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Two years’ teaching experience preferred.
• Comfort with growth-focused coaching via frequent observations and planning.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Outlook).
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Ability to stand for up to 90 minutes.
• Ability to supervise students in all school settings.
• Ability to pass federal and state background checks.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the teacher of record and primary instructor.
• Meet goals related to student achievement and culture and state accountability.
• Deliver live lessons via web conference.
• Complete course setup within the LMS.
• Monitor progress and provide ongoing feedback and grades.
• Maintain regular contact with each student.
• Collaborate with Principal on Progress Reports.
• Review data to adjust instruction.
• Differentiate instruction to meet needs.
• Create a joyful, caring classroom environment.
• Integrate culturally responsive teaching daily.
• Plan non-instructional activities and attend events in person.
• Collaborate respectfully with colleagues.
• Travel to support required state testing annually.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
