University Prep in Seattle, WA, seeks on-call substitute teachers to cover various disciplines for middle and high school students. Roles include planning, instruction, and classroom management on a part-time, temporary basis.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in one of the disciplines listed, with 2+ years of teaching experience; a Master’s degree is preferred. Pay is $115 for 3.5 hours or $230 for 7 hours per assignment, with mandated benefits only.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in one of the listed disciplines is required.
• Master’s degree is preferred.
• 2+ years’ teaching experience in a related field is required.
• 5+ years’ teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides classroom instruction and management.
• Follows school policies and regulations.
• Ensures safety and security for students, staff and facilities.
• Implements existing lesson plans with fidelity and ensures objective alignment.
• Provides feedback on student work and notes progress to the returning teacher.
• Tracks daily attendance and tardiness.
• Fulfills supervisory duties during non-instructional times.
• Upholds the school code of conduct and dress/tech policies.
• Escorts students during events or drills.
• Checks email and communicates schedule changes promptly.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
