Job summary

Children's Home is seeking a Physical Education teacher to deliver structured instruction aligned with NY State standards and tailored to each student's strengths and needs.

The role emphasizes classroom safety, therapeutic environment, and support for cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. Bachelor's degree required; NY PE certification strongly preferred with 1-year timeline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 2 years of teaching experience required.
• NYS PE Teacher Certification strongly preferred; certification must be obtained within 1 year of start.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and colleagues.
• Create and implement PE lesson plans aligned with New York State Learning Standards.
• Meet the instructional and physical education needs of each student per IEP or 504 Accommodation Plan.
• Create planning documents per program guidelines based on assessments of students' strengths and challenges.
• Complete required reports and documentation on time.
• Attend all required training and development.
