WECT is looking for a driven, creative news producer who works well with a team of talented professionals to create compelling newscasts. Excellent news judgment, superb writing skills, and a knack for showcasing stories for the viewer are key.

We're seeking a self-starter who has creative writing skills and can handle deadlines while juggling planning, producing, and occasional digital responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Experience as a producer preferred, but not required.
• Excellent writing, showcasing, communication, and time management skills required.

Responsibilities

• Produce live newscasts daily
• Select stories and determine story order
• Write broadcast and digital scripts
• Communicate with anchors, assignment desk, reporters, photographers, editors, and others to ensure execution of a high-quality newscast
• Help create and produce digital and social news content as needed.
