Job summary

WESH 2/CW18, Hearst-owned NBC affiliate in the Orlando market, seeks an experienced Local News Producer who can craft memorable newscasts under tight deadlines, write clean scripts, and coordinate with anchors, reporters, meteorologists and editors.

The role requires in-person, fast-paced newsroom work, aggressive breaking news coverage, and strong communication; bilingual producers encouraged; flexibility with holidays and nights.

Qualifications

• Professional or college producing experience.
• Excellent writing, spelling, grammar and copy-editing skills.
• Experience working in a newsroom.
• Ability to multi-task and coordinate several crews and responsibilities simultaneously.
• Ability to summarize information into easy-to-understand components.
• Creative presentation style, and ability to showcase all resources and elements.
• Highest journalistic integrity and ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Select, research, and write content for live newscasts to make the newscast an "experience" for viewers.
• Communicating, coordinating, and executing creative vision with team of anchors, reporters, meteorologists, photographers, editors, and production staff.
• Boothing assigned newscasts, breaking news and weather events.
• In-person attendance is required.
