Job summary

Forest Hills Public School District Thornapple Elementary in Grand Rapids, Michigan is seeking a Music Teacher - Long Term Substitute. Duration: End of September - early December. Reports to Building Principal. Salary: $120/day first 10 days, $130/day thereafter.

The role involves working with students under the principal's direction, with focus on music instruction and related classroom activities. Starting date is to be determined.

Qualifications

• Masters in Counseling preferred.
• School Counselor Endorsement on Michigan Teaching Certificate or
• School Counseling License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct sessions with students on an individual basis, assisting them with social, emotional and/or academic growth.
• Meet regularly with administration and Student Services personnel as part of a team involved in the evaluation and delivery of services to students with special needs.
• Participate in IEPC meetings when appropriate or requested.
• Serve as the central referral person to parents for private counseling services.
• Consult with parents and teachers concerning student behavior and development.
