Job summary

U.S. Bank in Washington, DC is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator to originate loans in an assigned non-bank territory and guide the application from intake to closing.

The role requires NMLS registration, a high school diploma, 2+ years of Mortgage/Sales/Real Estate experience, and a willingness to travel at least 50% of the time to meet clients and close loans. Strong sales ability and excellent communication are valued for building referral networks.

Qualifications

• NMLS registration under SAFÉ Act and Regulation Z, with clean criminal and credit record.
• High school degree or equivalent.
• Two or more years of Mortgage, Sales, or Real Estate experience.

Responsibilities

• Originate mortgage loans in assigned non-bank territory.
• Take applications and conduct preliminary underwriting reviews.
• Submit loan applications to processing and underwriting for approval.
• Ensure documents required for processing, underwriting, and closing are secured in a timely manner.
• Spend at least 50% of time conducting activities away from U.S. Bank locations.
