Job summary

Sinclair Broadcast Group's WKEF is seeking a take-charge Live Desk Reporter for the morning show to grow and empower our audiences. The ideal candidate brings energy, creativity, and aggressiveness to develop story ideas and gather information, prioritizing live desk anchoring during key morning newscasts and for digital platforms.

Reporting on the live desk is a specialized role; the candidate will monitor local, national, and global happenings to produce real-time live desk segments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field preferred.
• 2 years of reporter experience preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Experience with live desk anchoring preferred.
• Strong writing and copy-editing skills required.

Responsibilities

• Research, investigate, write, and present meaningful and timely stories for station newscasts that can be used across multiple platforms
• Engaging with local community members
• Reviewing material for fairness, accuracy, and balance
• Work closely with all members of the news team, which would include Producers, Editors, Anchors, News Management, etc.
