CAPITOL REGION EDUCATION COUNCIL Academy is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support students with disabilities in academics and daily living skills. You will collaborate with general education staff, administer diagnostic assessments, and contribute to IEP development to maximize learning outcomes.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Special Education principles, theories, and assessment methods.
• Differentiated instruction based on student learning styles.
• Data information systems and data-driven decision making.
• Familiarity with federal/state education laws affecting students.
• Ability to organize and coordinate work.
• Effective communication with staff, LEAs, students, and parents.
• Commitment to ongoing professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Conducts assessments and diagnostic exams to identify learning needs.
• Participates in PPTs and assists in developing IEPs.
• Supports students and staff in implementing IEPs and behavior plans.
• Collaborates with general education teachers to address individualized needs.
• Collects and analyzes data to inform decisions and reviews progress.
• Maintains records and keeps student information as required by policy.
• Engages with parents to encourage involvement in education.
