Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking a Middle Grades Science teacher for the end-of-year assignment in the Charlotte, NC district. This position runs through June 11, 2027, with an immediate starting date and full-time, 10-month commitment.

The teacher will plan and deliver engaging science lessons, assess student progress, and comply with NC standards and district policies under the principal's supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Valid NC Teaching certification or eligible for NC Teaching certification in assigned area.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with planning and delivering instruction to middle school students is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a program of study in the assigned content area that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of assigned students.
• Instruct students individually and in groups using various teaching methods.
• Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation upon request.
• Assess and monitor student progress and maintain records as required.
