You will collaborate with special education staff as needed, design standards-aligned lessons, and manage a positive, inclusive classroom in an urban school setting while meeting Pennsylvania clearance requirements.

Qualifications

• Valid, active state teaching certification or licensure matching the science caseload.
• Bachelor's degree; necessary for eligibility with an emergency teaching permit.
• Experience with middle school classrooms and effective management.
• At least one year of school-based experience.
• Ability to design standards-aligned lessons and differentiate by student data.
• Experience in urban education environments and adapting to diverse cultures.
• Mastery of middle school science content and instructional strategies.
• Reliable transportation for consistent onsite attendance 8:30AM–4:00PM.
• Able to obtain Pennsylvania clearances.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality science instruction to general education students; SPED support staff assist as needed.
• Develop and implement rigorous, standards-aligned lesson plans.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, engaging classroom with strong behavior management.
• Collaborate with school staff to support student growth and well-being.
• Complete instructional and administrative responsibilities in a timely manner.
