Job summary

Chesapeake Bay Academy in Virginia Beach is seeking a full-time classroom teacher for the middle school to plan, organize, and implement an instructional program that supports each student’s academic, social, and emotional growth. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in the appropriate content area and a current teacher licensure are required.
• Previous teaching experience, particularly at the middle school level, is preferred.
• Experience working with students with learning differences or in a special education setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning.
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and staff.
• Develop appropriate schemes of work and differentiated lesson plans.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
• To manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
