Job summary

Deptford Township Public Schools is seeking a Long Term Substitute Science Teacher for the Middle School, starting January 4, 2027 and ending May 27, 2027. The position offers daily pay rates depending on certification: $225 with Substitute Certification, or $342.85–$367.85 with NJ Teaching Certification, based on degree status.

The role requires eligibility for a NJ Instructional certificate or NJ Substitute Certification, and being Highly Qualified as per NJDOE standards.

Qualifications

Holds or is eligible for a NJ Instructional certificate in specific areas or grades to be taught.
Holds a NJ Substitute Certification.
Highly Qualified in specific areas as required by the New Jersey Department of Education.

Responsibilities

Plans lessons that strive to meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of all students.
Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
Guides the learning program toward the achievement of district and school goals and objectives.
Employs instructional methods and assessment in accordance with established standards of proficiency.
Promotes student learning and achievement in accordance with established standards of proficiency.
Assess student progress and maintain records, providing progress reports as required.
Communicates with parents/guardians as necessary.
