Job summary

Ellington Middle School in Connecticut is seeking a full-time library/media assistant for the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will oversee a middle school media center under the direction of a certified library media specialist and the building principal.

Responsibilities include processing, circulating, maintaining, and distributing books and other library materials, and assisting students and staff in locating and using resources.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work independently and have strong organizational skills.
• Candidate must possess excellent computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft applications and Google Docs.
• Will be required to submit to a state and national criminal history check as well as a DCF background check.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a middle school media center under the direction of a certified library media specialist and the building principal.
• Perform clerical library duties: processing, circulating, maintaining, and distributing books and other library materials.
• Assist students and staff in the selection, location, and use of library materials and equipment.
