Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Linguistics or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Experience teaching middle school in diverse settings; private school experience is a plus.
• Proven expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional design for middle school.
• Strong classroom and behavior management skills.
• Experience using learning technology platforms and digital tools.
• Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and literacy assessments.
• Ability to mentor students and foster a supportive classroom environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards.
• Utilize instructional design principles and learning technology to create interactive lessons.
• Implement classroom management techniques to foster a positive learning environment.
• Assess student progress through standardized testing and formative assessments; provide feedback.
• Mentor students in writing skills, including copy editing and AP style.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and PD.
• Support students' social-emotional growth and provide academic advising.
• Engage in parent communication regarding student progress.
