Job summary

Hughston Clinic is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support across multiple departments. You will collect health histories, take vitals, document in EMR, and assist with minor procedures while adapting to various workflows.

Requirements include CMA certification or 1 year of experience, HIPAA proficiency, a high school diploma, and a valid driver’s license. The role involves moving between sites to ensure efficient patient care and clinic operations.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification or 1 year of relevant experience.
• Working knowledge of HIPAA requirements.
• Valid driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Float between departments and sites to provide support where needed.
• Adapt quickly to differing protocols and workflows in each department.
• Accurately collect and enter patient health history.
• Take vitals upon check-in.
• Review and maintain charts to ensure completeness/EMR guidelines.
• Escort patient from waiting area to triage area for mobility variations.
• Monitor schedules and patient flow for clinic efficiency.
• Enter tests and procedures as ordered by provider.
• Document patient information in EMR per physician direction.
• Assist with minor surgical procedures and DME devices.
• Sterilize equipment and stock exam rooms after each patient.
• Communicate restrictions and instructions to patients.
• Coordinate with outside facilities for tests or surgery.
