Job summary

Science Academies of New York is seeking a Math Teacher for grades 8–12 at Syracuse Academy of Science High School for the 2026-2027 year. NYS Certification is required; we welcome dynamic, collaborative educators for diverse learners.

The successful candidate will design engaging lessons, use data to guide instruction, prepare students for standardized tests, and contribute to a supportive district culture with ongoing professional development. Strong classroom management is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• NYS certification required.
• Fingerprint clearance through NYS Department of Education.
• Experience with a diverse urban student population is a plus.
• Novice teachers encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide engaging lesson plans aligned to the charter's curriculum.
• Collaborate with staff on instructional goals and methods.
• Prepare students for standardized tests relevant to the content area.
• Demonstrate strong content knowledge and pedagogy.
• Utilize analytics and data to drive instruction and learning outcomes.
• Accept feedback and maintain effective classroom management.
