Job summary

Qualifications

  • Certification in Math: (029, 229) required; master's degree preferred.
  • Three years’ successful teaching experience in an urban setting preferred.
  • Experience using educational technology; strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and adjusts instructional goals reflecting district goals and student needs.
  • Designs lessons that promote problem-solving, creativity, and real-world connections.
  • Maintains behavior standards to foster self-discipline and positive relationships.
  • Plans activities addressing individual differences among students.
  • Engages in ongoing professional development in content and pedagogy.
  • Develops, administers, and evaluates formative and summative assessments.
  • Monitors student progress relative to curriculum policies and goals.
  • Encourages parental and community involvement in instruction.
  • Involves parents in assessing their child’s progress and needs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
