Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan individually or cooperatively a program of study meeting students' needs and abilities.
• Assist in establishing department or grade-level curriculum objectives and evaluation plans.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Guide learning toward curriculum goals and set clear lesson objectives.
• Use instructional methods and materials aligned with objectives.
• Assess student progress and provide reports as required.
• Diagnose learning strengths/weaknesses and involve district specialists as needed.
• Counsel with colleagues, students, and/or parents regularly.
• Implement policies governing student life and classroom behavior.
• Plan and supervise assignments for support staff and volunteers.
• Utilize technology in teaching and learning processes.
• Maintain accurate records and reports as required by law.
• Perform Medicaid administrative claims as directed per SDAC Guide.
• Adhere to Education Ethics Code and district policies.
• Support school improvement initiatives through activities and programs.
• Recognize indicators of student distress or abuse and act appropriately.
• Establish testing environment and ensure test security.
