Ave Maria University is seeking a Marching Band Visual & Percussion Instructor for a seasonal/temporary role in Florida. The position involves teaching marching and drumming techniques, refining drill design, and supporting field performances.

You will work closely with the Marching Band Director, mentor student leaders, and help coordinate rehearsals and events. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Music or Music Education or related field, with significant marching arts

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Music or Music Education or related field required.
Significant marching arts experience acceptable in lieu of degree.
Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Teach marching techniques: posture, stride, alignment, visual precision.
Instruct drumline on playing and marching techniques; ensure performance readiness.
Lead field rehearsals, sectionals, and full ensemble rehearsals.
Assist with teaching and cleaning field drill; ensure accurate placement of performers.
Utilize field technology to enhance visual performance (e.g., drone footage).
Mentor student leaders and facilitate leadership development workshops.
Coordinate band camp, rehearsals, and performances.
Support recruitment and promotion of the band program.
