Ashton North LLC in Boston seeks an Associate Attorney to join its Life Sciences Intellectual Property Litigation Group. The role focuses on complex patent and technology-related disputes, working with leading trial lawyers in a hybrid setting across multiple locations.

The successful candidate will handle depositions, motion practice, and written discovery while developing expertise through collaboration with a top-tier team and global clients in a fast-paced intellectual property practice.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in applicable jurisdiction in good standing.
• Strong background in intellectual property disputes, particularly patent litigation.
• Proven ability to take and defend depositions and manage motion practice.
• Skilled in written discovery, fact development, and expert discovery.
• Demonstrated proficiency drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation-related filings.
• Familiarity with Inter Partes Review proceedings and/or ITC matters a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, CS, CE or related technical discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in sophisticated intellectual property and patent litigation matters.
• Conduct all phases of written discovery, fact development, and case strategy.
• Take and defend fact and expert witness depositions.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other litigation-related documents.
• Manage expert discovery and collaborate with technical and industry experts.
• Assist with trial preparation, hearings, and strategic litigation planning.
• Support clients in Inter Partes Review proceedings and other Patent Trial and Appeal Board matters when applicable.
• Assist with ITC investigations and related proceedings as opportunities arise.
