Job summary

Morgan County Schools is seeking a Library/Media Specialist to operate and supervise the media center, assist teachers in selecting instructional materials, and manage cataloging and interlibrary loan operations. The role requires a Bachelor's Degree in Library Media and a valid WV teaching certificate.

The position reports to the School Building Principal, follows the MCBOE salary schedule, and includes a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Library Media
• Valid teaching certificate licensing the individual to teach in the specialization and grade levels, pursuant to WV Code §18A-3-2

Responsibilities

• Operate and supervise the media center.
• Evaluate, select, and requisition new media center materials.
• Assist teachers in the selection of books and other instructional materials, and make media center materials available to supplement the instructional program.
• Inform teachers and other staff members concerning new materials the media center acquires.
• Maintain a comprehensive and efficient system for cataloging all media center materials and instruct teachers and students on use of the system.
• Arrange for interlibrary loan of materials of interest or use to teachers.
• Use technology integration skills to improve instruction for both students and educators.
