Job summary

The successful candidate will hold SC certification as a Media Specialist (or approved alternative) and will collaborate with faculty to expand media-centered learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must hold South Carolina Media Specialist certification or approved alternative per SC Department of Education.
• Operates and supervises the school library assigned.
• Instructs teachers and students on library cataloging system use.

Responsibilities

• Operates and supervises the library to which assigned.
• Evaluates, selects, and requisitions new media materials.
• Assists teachers in selecting books and materials to supplement instruction.
• Maintains cataloging system for all library materials and teaches use of the system.
• Coordinates interlibrary loan of materials of interest or use to teachers.
• Collaborates with teachers on assignments to maximize media center resources.
• Promotes appropriate conduct of students in the media center.
• Supports students in developing independent reference work and using reference materials.
