Virginia Beach City Public Schools seeks a qualified teacher to plan and provide engaging learning experiences, monitor student progress, and maintain records. Collaboration with parents, staff, and the community supports student success.

Responsibilities include delivering instruction, meeting diverse needs, and upholding policies. Emphasis on safety, preparation, and ongoing professional development with a start date in 2027-2028.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in applicable field of education.
• Must have or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license.
• Experience in an instructional setting preferred.

Responsabilités

• Plan a program of study that meets students' needs and abilities.
• Instruct classes on schedule and locations designated.
• Create a classroom environment that fosters student involvement and learning.
• Provide instruction to meet the needs of all students.
• Prepare for classes and show evidence of preparation upon request.
• Guide learning toward curriculum goals with clear lesson objectives.
• Establish learning objectives aligned with the VBCPS curriculum.
• Plan using methods, resources and evaluation techniques to motivate students.
• Maintain safety for students and school property.
• Maintain accurate records as required by law and policy.
• Assist administration in policy implementation and classroom management.
• Be available to students/parents outside instructional hours as needed.
• Establish respectful relationships with colleagues, students, and community.
• Plan and supervise work for teacher assistants and volunteers.
• Assess own effectiveness and pursue professional development.
