Job summary

Midway ISD Region 12's River Valley Middle School in McGregor, Texas seeks an Instructional Assistant to support students under the direction of a certified teacher. You will help prepare materials, supervise small groups, and assist with classroom routines.

You must be able to work well with children, communicate effectively, and hold a high school diploma or GED plus Texas educational aide certification or equivalent. The role is non-exempt and 187 days annually.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Texas educational aide certificate required.
• Associate’s degree or two years of college, or Region XII option satisfies qualification.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students under the direction of a teacher.
• Prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Implement strategies to address student needs.
• Assist with administration and scoring of tests.
• Maintain neat and orderly instructional area.
• Assist with inventory and care of equipment and supplies.
• Help teacher keep records and reports.
• Support substitute teachers.
• Supervise students during day including lunchroom, bus, and playground.
• Notify teacher of student issues or special needs.
• Compile and file reports and requisitions according to procedures.
• Participate in staff development training.
• Attend faculty meetings and events as assigned.
• Uphold school policies and confidentiality.
