Job summary

Del Valle Independent School District Opportunity Center in Del Valle, Texas is seeking a 2026-2027 HS Math Teacher to provide rigorous instruction and support to students in algebra and general math. Immediate starting date and full-time position with district curriculum guidance.

Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree, Texas teaching certificate with endorsement for math at high school level, and preferably ESL certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsement for subject and level assigned or approved alternative certification
• ESL certification preferred
• Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50) paid by employee.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with district curriculum and show written evidence of preparation
• Prepare lessons reflecting accommodations for differences in student learning styles
• Present subject matter according to guidelines established by federal regulations and district policies
• Plan and use instructional strategies and materials that reflect diverse needs of students
• Collaborate with staff to modify curricula for students with special needs (e.g., Special Education, 504, Bilingual)
• Assess student learning styles and use results to plan activities
• Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process
• Supervise extracurricular activities as assigned
• Maintain professional relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with policies and regulations
• Plan and assign work to instructional aides and volunteers
