Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg, PA is seeking dynamic substitute teachers for daily and long-term coverage, including 30+ consecutive days, to cover high school classes according to the teacher's plans.

Positions may be full-time or part-time on an as-needed basis. Ideal candidates have substitute-teaching experience or a strong desire to contribute, with the ability to lead classes and maintain an orderly learning environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Scheduling flexibility and patience essential.

• Substitute teaching experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out lesson plan instructions from the classroom teacher, or create lesson plans in the absence of a prepared lesson.
• Take attendance according to school procedure.
• Assign homework according to the teacher's lesson plans.
• Supplement lesson plans with your own class activities if lessons end early.
• Create and maintain discipline and a safe learning environment in accordance with school policies.
• Complete a report form, including absences and progress with the lesson plan.
