Job summary

Family Life Academy Charter Schools is seeking a Physical Education teacher for grades 9–12 to implement a standards-based curriculum and motivate students to improve fitness and skill development. You will promote inclusive practices, align lessons with NYS standards, and use data to refine teaching strategies.

Under the supervision of the principal, you will foster a safe, supportive learning environment, collaborate with staff, and participate in ongoing professional growth and school-wide

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required; master’s degree is preferred.
• New York State Certification in Physical Education (all grades).
• Fingerprint and criminal background clearance required.
• Teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create rigorous, standards-based lesson plans aligned to NY standards.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs including ELLs and those with disabilities.
• Analyze assessment data to refine instructional practices and improve student achievement.
• Maintain a safe, caring, and orderly classroom environment.
• Collaborate in professional learning communities and grade-level teams.
