Brush High School is seeking an enthusiastic High School Girls Basketball Assistant Coach to support the Head Coach in developing a competitive program that emphasizes academics, character, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship. The role supports student-athletes to maximize athletic and personal potential while promoting a positive, inclusive team culture.

The Assistant Coach reports to the Student Activities Director and Head Girls Basketball Coach and requires evening, weekend, and travel

Qualifications

• Experience coaching or playing basketball at high school level.
• Knowledge of basketball rules, techniques, and strategies.
• Ability to motivate and positively influence student-athletes.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Must meet district/state certifications (CPR, First Aid, coaching credentials).

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Coach with practices, games, and team activities.
• Teach and reinforce basketball fundamentals and strategies.
• Assist with scouting, game prep, and player evaluations.
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, contests, travel, and events.
• Promote academic success, positive behavior, and leadership.
• Build positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and community.
• Assist with equipment inventory and maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with district, league, and state regulations.
• Support off-season skill development and program-building.
• Attend meetings and professional development.
