Job summary

The University Centers at University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is seeking a Group Ex Instructor to teach group exercise classes at Dawg Fitness. This student hourly role supports the Group Exercise program and provides a friendly, safe class experience for UWSP students and staff.

Instructors will train to lead sessions, maintain safety standards, and participate in leadership development. The position reports to the Group Ex Student Manager and Fitness Programs Manager; it requires 5–7 hours

Qualifications

• Required: able to work 5–7 hours/week during the semester
• Must complete instructor training before leading sessions
• Adult CPR, AED, and First Aid certification within 8 weeks of starting
• Concussion Protocol Training may be provided and must be completed within the same timeframe

Responsibilities

• Teach fitness classes in a safe and effective manner
• Demonstrate polished techniques and knowledge of safety, body mechanics, fitness and wellness
• Develop leadership and communication skills through team trainings during the year
