Job summary

Weber State University's Campus Recreation Department seeks a Group Exercise Instructor to lead safe, effective group classes and foster an inclusive, motivating atmosphere for participants.

This pooled position reports to the Fitness Coordinator; CPR/AED and First Aid certifications are required before shifts, and prior group exercise experience is preferred; completion of related coursework and a nationally recognized certification (ACE/AFAA) is advantageous.

Qualifications

• CPR / AED and Standard First Aid certifications required prior to working a shift.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and relational service skills.
• Prior group exercise experience recommended; related coursework and a fitness certification are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe, effective, and enjoyable group exercise classes for Campus Recreation.
• Monitor participants and create a supportive, inclusive exercise environment while developing instruction skills.
• Report to the Fitness Coordinator.
