Job summary

Gold's Gym is seeking a Group Exercise Instructor to lead and motivate members in a group setting. You will follow an approved class format, deliver clear instructions, and ensure safety and proper technique throughout every session.

You will maintain high energy and engagement, manage music and tempo, and coordinate substitute instructors when needed to prevent cancellations. Prior group fitness experience and certification are required.

Qualifications

• Current hands-on CPR/AED certification and basic first aid training is required.
• Minimum of six months teaching in a group exercise environment.
• Maintain nationally recognized Group fitness certification by ACE, AFAA, ACSM.
• Provide verifiable proof of specialized skill/training such as Yoga, Pilates, Body Pump, Body Attack, etc.
• Knowledge of group fitness teaching strategies and choreography and safe transitional movement, music, tempo, cueing technique, and rhythm.
• High energy and physical fitness to sustain workouts.
• Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, kinesiology and training principles.
• Engaging and motivational leadership with adaptability to engage participants.

Responsibilities

• Leads and delivers group fitness classes based on industry standards and approved formats.
• Instructs participants on proper techniques and demonstrations; explains muscle groups and modifications.
• Provides clear verbal instructions and manages music volume and atmosphere.
• Coaches and motivates participants to achieve fitness goals while monitoring for injuries or overexertion.
• Ensures correct form and offers modifications for all fitness levels.
• Represents Gold's Gym professionally and adheres to attire and standards.
• Schedules substitutes to avoid class cancellations and coordinates with GGX Manager.
