Job summary

Buffalo Grove Park District is seeking energetic Group Exercise Instructors to lead a variety of classes at the Fitness Center. You should maintain a positive attitude and collaborate with other instructors, staff and members.

Responsibilities include planning, delivering, adapting classes, arriving early to set up, and ensuring a minimum average of eight participants per class. Certification in ACE/AFAA/AEA and CPR, plus two years of teaching experience, are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current ACE/AFAA/AEA group exercise certification.
• CPR certification.
• Minimum of two years teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-quality classes matching the description and participant needs.
• Arrange a substitute if unable to teach; sub for others when needed.
• Attend department meetings and respond to emails in a timely manner.
• Arrive early to set up equipment, check in participants, and clean up afterward.
• Build relationships with participants to maintain at least 8 participants per class.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
