Job summary

Aya Locums has an immediate opening for a locum Gastroenterology physician in Anchorage, AK. The assignment runs for 13 weeks with a start date of 10-26-26 and daily rates between $2,800 and $3,200.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating adult patients, performing endoscopies when applicable, and coordinating with surgical and radiology teams. AK license required; ABIM/ABOA boards preferred. Travel and lodging may be provided.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Residency in internal medicine accredited by ACGME or AOA.
• Fellowship in gastroenterology preferred depending on the position.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat a wide range of digestive system disorders in adults and potentially children (depending on the position).
• Conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as endoscopies, X-rays, CT scans and blood tests.
• Perform endoscopic procedures to diagnose and treat digestive conditions (depending on the scope of practice).
• Develop and implement treatment plans.
• Manage chronic digestive conditions and provide ongoing patient care.
• Collaborate with surgeons, radiologists and other specialists to ensure coordinated care.
• Educate patients on digestive health and disease prevention.
• Maintain accurate and complete medical records for all patients.
• Stay current on the latest advancements in gastroenterology through continuing education.
