Job summary

Austin Community College District seeks a Faculty member for College Readiness GED/HSE to deliver engaging GED-aligned Math and Language Arts instruction across in-person campuses (Central, North, and South) and online. The role focuses on preparing adult learners to pass GED exams and earn a state-recognized credential, with emphasis on student success and inclusive belonging.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in English, Education, Math, Curriculum Design, or related field, and 1

Qualifications

1 year experience teaching varied student populations, including ESL/ELL/ESOL, K-12, adult education, and higher education.
OR At least 3 graduate hours in an appropriate education course focused on adult learners, educational psychology, teaching developmental courses, or educational methods.

Responsibilities

Prepare and teach GED-aligned Math and/or Language Arts courses for a multicultural student population, aligned with approved learning outcomes.
Design, review, and refine comprehensive HSE/GED curricula including goal-setting and collaboration with colleagues.
Evaluate the effectiveness of current practices and make data-driven adjustments to foster student success.
Guide and support students through the GED.com experience.
Maintain attendance, grading, and Blackboard records in a timely manner.
