Job summary

XPO is hiring a Freight Operations Supervisor in New York to lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations, ensuring timely, damage-free processing and strong team performance. The role requires knowledge of LTL, regulatory compliance, and the ability to manage workloads, schedules, and safety practices.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related work experience in a warehouse, distribution, supply chain, transportation or similar environment.
• Knowledge of the Less-than-Truckload (LTL) industry, hazardous materials regulations and DOT rules and regulations.
• Available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations.
• Develop and implement strategic work procedures to meet evolving department demands.
• Evaluate, manage, assign and supervise workloads and tasks.
• Supervise hourly staff across operations and be the primary contact for workplace concerns.
• Ensure production goals by managing tonnage, payroll and admin functions.
• Plan hourly schedules to meet goals and reduce costs.
• Enforce all company policies and regulations to ensure compliance.
• Inspire and coach employees on safety rules and quality requirements.
• Direct a team to consistently meet productivity goals.
• Make hiring, suspension and termination recommendations.
• Develop action plans to improve load average and model compliance.
• Participate in safety and engagement committees.
• Train employees on safety processes.
• Maintain organization for safety and productivity.
