Hoover Treated Wood Products, Inc. in Virginia is seeking a Forklift Operator to move wood bundles through Receiving, Shipping, Treating Plant, Stacker, or Kiln areas. The role requires safety compliance and adaptability to different plant zones.

You will perform daily forklift checks, unload/load trucks, and assist in staging material while following environmental rules. This on-site, hourly position offers training opportunities and a path within a growing wood-treatment operation.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED recommended.
• Ability to learn and obtain forklift operating permit.
• Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all environmental and safety procedures are followed and report all unsafe or non-compliant issues.
• Unload and load trucks in a safe and appropriate manner when assigned to Receiving or Shipping.
• Load and unload tram cars and stage material for the next treating charge(s) when assigned to the Treating Plant.
• Load material onto the stacker infeed and remove finished goods for storage when assigned to Stacker.
• Load and unload kiln charges as directed by Kiln Coordinator or Kiln Operator when assigned to Kiln.
• Willing to flow to different areas of the plant as needed.
• Move safely through the yard without damaging material.
• Attend training and safety meetings; be trained on the specific lift used.
• Perform daily forklift checks and report issues.
• Identify various wood sizes and treatments; perform computer duties as necessary.
• Other duties as directed.
