The YMCA of the North Shore is seeking a Floating Teacher to support Early Learning Centers in Beverly, Salem, Marblehead, Ipswich, and Cape Ann. You will assist classroom teachers, help implement curriculum, and support children's development in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers and center leadership with daily classroom activities and routines.
• Support the implementation of curriculum and age-appropriate learning experiences.
• Help foster children's social, emotional, physical, creative, and cognitive development.
• Provide positive guidance and encouragement to children throughout the day.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming learning environment.
• Monitor classrooms, playgrounds, and learning spaces to ensure health and safety.
• Report maintenance or safety concerns to the supervisor.
• Assist with classroom organization, cleanup, and preparation of learning materials.
• Support positive interactions with parents and guardians.
• Communicate relevant information through supervisory channels.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and program operations.
• Model the YMCA's core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
• Assist with attendance tracking, meal counts, behavior logs, injury reports, and other documentation.
