Job summary

The City of Rockville Recreation department seeks qualified Fitness Class Instructors I, II, or III to plan, develop, and lead safe, engaging fitness programs. Instructors will teach, demonstrate, and supervise activities while upholding public image through punctuality and clear communication.

Positions vary by level with different salary ranges. Certification in CPR/First Aid and group fitness credentials may be required; HS diploma or GED required for I, with higher education and experience

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of training in the subject area.
• Two to three years of teaching experience for II.
• Three (3) plus years of training/exposure for III.
• Effective communication skills across all levels.
• CPR/First Aid and group fitness certification(s) may be required for all levels.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and implement all aspects of the fitness program in a safe manner.
• Lead, teach, and demonstrate all activities.
• Promote positive public relations and image for the City through appearance and punctuality.
