Job summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Pain Regional Account Manager to deliver field-based coverage across the Pain Business Unit, addressing vacancies, leaves, and priority needs. The role reports to the Area Field Leader and is deployed regionally to maintain continuity across accounts and priorities.

During deployments lasting roughly 10–12 weeks, you will live and work within the assigned territory with regular in-territory travel, returning home weekly.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of pharmaceutical or biotech sales experience.
• 3+ years in Account Management with established institutional relationships.
• Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
• Experience with inpatient formularies, protocols, and order sets is preferred.
• Ability to adapt across territory dynamics and customer types.

Responsibilities

• Provide flexible field coverage across regions to address vacancies.
• Deploy based on priority needs to maintain continuity of customer relationships.
• Establish and protect key customer relationships during deployments.
• Document activity and plans in CRM tools (e.g., Veeva).
• Coordinate transitions to permanent ownership at end of deployments.
