Job summary

University of California, Irvine is seeking a Clinical Associate Physician for the Emergency Department at UCI Health – Los Alamitos. MD/DO required, board-eligible in Emergency Medicine, and CA medical license eligibility are essential.

The role focuses on direct patient care in a fast-paced ED with professional documentation and credentialing duties. Schedule includes 128 hours per month with base salary in a high-range tier.

Qualifications

• Must possess an MD, DO, or equivalent degree.
• Board certification/board eligibility in Emergency Medicine.
• Must possess/ be eligible for an unrestricted CA Medical License.
• California DEA registration.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fluid, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Examine, diagnose and provide treatment for Emergency Department patients.
• Complete all necessary paperwork and patient documentation within departmental standards.
• Complete patient encounter forms and meet the requirements outlined in the Professional Fee Billing (IL372) Compliance Plan.
• Maintain UCI Medical Staff Privileges, UCI Medical Group active membership.
