Job summary

Chesterfield County Public Schools seeks a dedicated elementary permanent substitute to cover PreK-5 classrooms when needed. You will implement lesson plans, adapt instruction, and maintain a productive learning environment across grade levels.

The role requires collaboration with teachers and staff, adherence to division policies, use of technology in instruction, and strong communication with parents and administration.

Qualifications

• Flexible and willing to adapt to change on short notice.
• Extensive knowledge of Virginia Standards of Learning and available resources.
• Proficient in using media and technology to support instruction.
• Ability to assess, monitor and differentiate instruction using data.
• Strong organization, time management and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Improvise lessons when detailed plans are unavailable.
• Plan and deliver curriculum aligned with district standards.
• Set clear objectives for all activities and communicate them.
• Collaborate with staff to plan and deliver instruction.
• Communicate regularly with parents and administration.
• Supervise students in non-classroom time as needed.
