Qualifications

  • Must meet NYS DOH/DOE and Salvation Army requirements for the day care center.
  • Must have NYS ECC Birth-2 certification or be on a study plan towards certification.

Responsibilities

  • Appropriately supervise children at all times in compliance with DOH/DOE regulations.
  • Plan and execute a classroom program addressing educational, social, developmental and health needs.
  • Develop educational goals appropriate to each child's age and level.
  • Maintain classroom furniture, equipment and materials in good condition.
  • Keep written records on children's progress per DOE/DOH and Salvation Army policy.
  • Communicate children's progress to parents and center staff.
  • Participate in staff meetings, mandatory training and professional development.
  • Assist in recruitment activities to increase enrollment.
  • Fulfill administrative tasks during the Educational Director's absence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, NYC DOE platforms, and Teaching Strategies.
