Job summary

School of Rock in North Haven is seeking a Drum Instructor to lead music education through private lessons and rehearsals. You will create engaging experiences that challenge and inspire students while promoting life skills through rock-based teaching.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of teaching or performing experience, strong knowledge of music theory and curriculum design, and a patient, enthusiastic demeanor. Collaborative teamwork and reliability are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience teaching and/or performing music professionally.
• Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design.
• Excellent ability to deal well with a wide range of customers and other people.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Very strong customer relations skills.
• Resourceful and good problem-solver.

Responsibilities

• Maximize the quality of music instruction including private lessons and shows.
• Ensure students learn fundamentals, not just songs.
• Create and document thoughtful lesson plans.
• Communicate progress with parents after lessons.
• Be visible and accessible in the school and interact with parents and students.
• Assist in rehearsals and basic maintenance in school.
• Adhere to Code of Conduct and safety policies.
